Hi Livia,
thank you for joining the discussion here ;-)

Yes, I agree that designers should became more comfortable with analytics.

But in my experience, web analytics tools are becoming more complex during years and now having an analytics expert within the design team is a huge advantage (if you can afford it).

Also, we're struggling to help customers understand that ux is not measurable (I wrote about it few days ago), even if they *need* to. That's why, as designers consultants, we need to have a deep understanding on kpi, metrics and whatever clients use to measure, to better support them and justify design decisions.

Furthermore, I think that we should skip the "measuring ux" step, up to a "monitoring ux" level. I assume we agree here, as I read your "ux health check" presentations. I will write about it in the next future.

Forgive my inability to respond in Italian as I understand just enough to make out what you are saying... I think your two conclusions are fair. The one aspect I am not sure about is the need to have a web analytics expert in a team.

Yes, is is desirable but many cannot count on that. Which is why I find it important that designers feel comfortable with this domain and are able to do the bare minimum to bring some base understanding of what is going on with their product.

If a designer can count on a web analytics expert, this familiarity allows for better collaboration, if they can't can't, it at least equips the designer to ask better questions.

Grazie per i commenti! :)

Vanno senza dubbio analizzate insieme.
